1. Extracting Oil Through Cooking:-

  • First, you have to wash all the avocados you are going to extract oil. Use a knife to cut in a scooping motion around the pit until two halves come apart. Now, use a spoon to scoop out the pulp and put it into the food processor or blender.
  • Blend well the pulp until you get a smooth puree-type texture. Then, pour it into a medium-sized pot.
  • Turn the gas on to medium to high heat. Stir them every 5 mins. When puree starts to boil, you may see bubbles which is a good sign of extracting oil from avocado.
  • Keep cooking and stirring the mixture until it changes its color from light green to dark green without having any water content.
  • When the cooking process has stopped, spoon the mixture into a bowl. Now, take a thin cloth such as cheesecloth on top of the bowl, then hold the cloth in place around the rim of the bowl and turn the bowl upside-down. Tighten the cloth to give it a strain so that you are left with only a sack of avocado.
  • Squeeze the sack of avocado over a bowl to strain out the oil. Keep changing your grip as well as squeezing for a min. or more until no more oil remains inside the sack.
  • Once you have done this process of extracting oil, pour the oil into a small bottle or a safe container. Your avocado oil is ready to use.
