  1. Step 1.

    First, you have to preheat the oven to 200℃. Take a saucepan and melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onions and let it cook for 5 mins. 

    Now, finely slice the button mushrooms and cook with onions. 

  2. Step 2.

    When both mushrooms and onions are almost cooked, add flour to the pan to make a thick paste and stir continuously for 2 mins over low heat. This stops the starchy taste of the sauce. 

  3. Step 3.

    Slowly add warm milk to the pan and stir all the time. Once all milk has been added to the pan, season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and mustard powder. 

    Now, add bay leaves and stir continuously so that lumps wouldn't be formed.

    When you come to know that sauce is too thick, you can add more milk or water as necessary to get the desired consistency. 

    Chop the cooked chicken into even-sized pieces and add to the sauce. It's time to add all your veggies into the pie baking dish.

    Now, put the pastry on a floured surface. Roll out the pastry using a rolling pin (before using a rolling pin, dust it with flour too). Take measurement of the pie dish and make large size pastry than the pie dish.
